Privacy policy

PedIT is a learning portal that can be used on computers and handheld devices. In addition, PedIT has an app that is used in conjunction with LMS in some solutions.

This version of PedIT is licensed to a customer, Norsk Nettskole that is a partner in the project “Future teacher”.

The customer is the supplier of the content in this learning platform and in the associated app. The customer has its own version of PedIT, and possibly its own app for handheld devices. However, PedIT AS is still the supplier, and the customer, in collaboration with PedIT AS, is responsible for the privacy policy for the individual installation.

The text below is provided by PedIT to inform about data processing and privacy.

ABOUT

This site is used to inform site users about our policy for privacy, and data collection and use.

PedIT is sold as a service to customers, and PedIT’s responsibility in regard to privacy is limited to the system’s collection and use of data in the app, on websites and on servers. PedIT is not responsible for and cannot control how customers, their users or their administrators handle security or privacy.

As an example, customers must themselves develop safe routines for their passwords and logins.

If you choose to use PedIT, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to governing laws and policies. Personal information obtained is used for necessary measures related to the purpose of using PedIT. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this policy.

An exception may be where there is a connection between PedIT and administrative systems in schools. These are then subject to the same strict procedures and laws as PedIT, and the customer is responsible for entering into agreements that also ensure privacy in these solutions.

COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION

In order to identify users, to ensure the best end-user experience, and to make administration and communication possible, we ask for identifiable information.

This may include but is not limited to:

· Name
· Address
· Phone number
· Other address information
· Relationships between parents and children and between children

This information varies from customer to customer, but is supplied to users at first login and on the user’s personal page.

Furthermore, PedIT will collect student work and contributions related to learning processes:

· Student work like text, videos and images
· Contributions to social and individual learning processes
· Grades and evaluations

The information will be kept by us and used as described in these guidelines.
The program does not use third-party services that can retrieve information used to identify you.
There is a separate agreement on the processing of personal data between PedIT and the customer.
Most of this information is also included in the customer agreement.

If you do not want to be a user in the system any more, contact us. (See below)

LOGGED DATA

When using our service and our app, we collect data (log data) on all devices. These log data can contain information such as Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, configuration of application, time, location and date of use of the service, and other statistics.

These data are only used to support customer interaction, for documentation of customer activity and for the operation of the service.

We can employ third-party companies and individuals and give them access to data for the following reasons:

• To simplify our service;
• To provide the service on our behalf;
• To perform service-related services; or
• To help us analyse how our service is used.

If necessary, these third parties access your personal information, but only to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. They are trusted contacts under contract, and they have signed agreements not to publish or use the information for any other purpose.

SECURITY

Users put their trust in us when they store their data with us. We reciprocate this trust by handling their data carefully. We guarantee the highest level of security for this type of computer solution, and will always be in line with laws, rules and good practice.

OTHER SITES

This service may contain links to other websites. If you click on such links, you will be directed to sites that are not hosted by us.

Therefore, please read the privacy policies of these sites before you consider storing personal data there. We have no control over – and can assume no responsibility for – content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Some customers use this service with end users under the age of 13. Therefore, we do not collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 outside what is permitted by schools or public bodies and required for education or training. Schools that use PedIT will themselves inform children’s legal guardians about privacy.

All information is collected and registered by the customer, the school or the company using PedIT and PedIT AS is not responsible for these customers’ actions.

If we find that a child under the age of 13 has provided personal information that is not necessary for educational use, we will immediately delete this information from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information that should not have been stored with us, please contact us so that we can take the necessary measures.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT FROM PEOPLE USING OUR WEBSITE OR APP?

When ordering or registering on our site, or when a company, school or organization uses PedIT, the name, e-mail address, telephone number, in some cases personal ID number and other details will be registered on our servers and the collected information can be used by PedIT LMS.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

We may use the information we collect from you or through our customers to operate PedIT in accordance with PedIT’s purpose.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?

Our websites are scanned regularly for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make user visits to our site as safe as possible.

The personal information of a user is stored behind secure networks and is only available to a limited number of people who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential. When a user purchases services through PedIT’s online store (only applicable in some PedITs), we cannot store the user’s credit card information for more than 60 days. We store it for this amount of time in order to make future orders faster and automate the billing process.

All data about them will then be deleted. If deletion is not permitted, only necessary data shall be stored and the user will be informed of the reasoning.

Projectmeeting Aurskog, Norway
Our 4th project meeting was held on March 1th and 2th in the idyllic landscape of Aurskog in Norway. It was a nice reunion at Fjola restaurant in Oslo on 28 February. The food was served on wooden plates made in Aurskog. Moreover, the restaurant was founded by a student of the Norks Nettskole. The outside temperature was -22 ° and there was a lot of snow. The picture shows the beautiful office of the Norsk Nettskole :)
Projectmeeting Den Bosch

For the third project meeting we met with all the partners in the beautiful city Den Bosch ('s-Hertogenbosch) in the Netherlands. This project meeting took place on 12 and 13 October 2017, but we all went down to Den Bosch an evening earlier to dive into the city before we start. This allowed us to fly back into our project with a lot of energy the next morning.

Edinburgh
The second project meeting with all partners took place in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Not only our Future Teacher 3.0 team was there. We had some extra help! Curious who where there with us? And the progress that we made? We are happy to tell you!

First project meeting in Brussel
The first 'live' project meeting took place 9 and 10  November 2016 in Brussels at the office from POV/Toll-net.  In online meetings we had met each other off course. But in Brussel some of us saw each other in real life for the first time. It really felt like the official kick off of this project. Do you want to know how that went? Read more here...
